Punta del Monte

7:00 am

The early morning tour to the Punta del Monte will allow a view of wildlife including swamp antelope, black buck, attox, quail, badgers and even an ostrich or two.  These ranch owners practice ranch preservation and have gone through great efforts to include some exotic wildlife on their ranchland.  A viewing deck is available for tour guests to catch a special glimpse of that unusual species making their way through the brush and grasses of the ranch.

Corbett Ranch

Located west of Raymondville off of West Highway 186, the Corbett Ranch extends to the back portion of La Sal Vieja (Salt Lakes) offering exclusive wildlife viewing and bird watching opportunity to guests.  The Corbett Ranch is located the highest point of Willacy County, making this tour one of great interest.

San Miguelito Ranch

7:00 am

A popular annual tour offered at Wild in Willacy is the San Miguelito Ranch Tour.  Some particularly special guests (now residents) will prove to make this tour an exciting one....a couple of Ferruginous Pygmy owls.  These small owls are quite a treat to see.  White tail deer, nilgai, javelinas, and an array of bird species may be easily seen traveling thought the "senderos" of the San Miguelito Ranch.

The Hunke Ranch

2:00 PM

Over the past 15 years, the Hunke Ranch has grown from approximately 15oo acres to over 4000 acres through the purchase of three additional pieces of land.  It is one continuous tract of land with the King to the east, the Corbett Ranch to the South, and East Ranch to the North.  The Hunke Ranch has once again won the Valley Land Fund Wildlife Photography contest and will have this year's publication dedicated to them.  Unique ranch habitat conservation and ranch preservation have been practiced here for years.  Exotice wildlife breeding programs are also an important part of the ranch.
